Just days after denouncing Kylie Jenner's billionaire status, Forbes have named the Keeping Up With The Kardashians Star as the highest-paid celebrity in the world, over the past year. This whole thing is a lot to get your head around, isn't it?

Last Friday, Forbes claimed Kylie Jenner had inflated her net worth and stripped the reality star of her billionaire status. In an article titled ‘Kylie Jenner's Web Of Lies', Forbes alleges Kylie "inflated the size and success of her business for years", adding "Kylie’s camp has been lying" about how much she's worth.

The 22-year-old very quickly hit back at claims, insisting she 'never asked' for the title of the youngest self-made billionaire, and hadn't lied to get there. "What am I even waking up to," she wrote on Twitter.

"I thought this was a reputable site... all I see are a number of inaccurate statements and unproven assumptions lol. I've never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there ever. Period."

She added, "Even creating tax returns that were likely forged' that's your proof? So you just THOUGHT they were forged? Like actually what am I reading. But okay I am blessed beyond my years, I have a beautiful daughter, and a successful business and I'm doing perfectly fine. I can name a list of 100 things more important right now than fixating on how much money I have."

While they might not think she's a billionaire, Forbes magazine today [5 June] reported that Jenner made $590 million (£466.1m) over the past year, making her the highest paid celebrity right now. Still pretty impressive, then.

"The reality TV star sold 51% of Kylie Cosmetics to publicly traded Coty, Inc. in January 2019 for $600 million; she pocketed $540 million, pretax," Forbes explained.

"While she had exaggerated over the years about the size of her business, the money she pulled in from the deal was real--enough to rank as one of the biggest celebrity cashouts of all time."

Also making up the top ten highest paid celebrities was Kanye West in second place ($170 million), Roger Federer in third ($106.3 million) and Cristiano Ronaldo in fourth ($105 million).

Just casual numbers, then.
