In 2010, Richards joined Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and is the last remaining original cast member. “Obviously there’s a lot of downside that comes with doing reality television,” Richards told Variety last year. “But there’s also a lot of upside that’s not really talked about. I’m not just talking about the platform to talk about your favorite charity, or whatever it may be. We actually have a lot of fun, too…and the relationships I have with the crew and production — they become your family.”
Season 13 of “RHOBH,” which wrapped in February 2024, achieved the highest viewership of any “Real Housewives” franchise since 2014.
As a producer, Richards created and served as co-executive producer of “American Women” on the Paramount Network, a limited series loosely based on her own childhood.
Richards has used her platform to spread awareness for breast cancer, a disease that took her mother’s life. Richards, who is on the “First Families” list of CHLA for donating over $100k, continuously raises funds for the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles through various initiatives and events. Following the recent loss of her lifelong best friend, Richards has partnered with the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) to raise money and support.
Richards was named to Variety’s 2023 list of the “40 Most Powerful Women on Reality TV.”
