Since the Kardashian-Jenners announced Keeping Up With The Kardashians would be ending next year, fans have been speculating about what was behind the huge decision. While Kris Jenner said it was "the right time" and the family wanted to "take a minute and breathe" and "slow down a bit", US sources suggest other factors also played a part.

According to US Weekly, the family knew they didn't really need the show for promotional purposes any longer because their individual brands and social channels are now so big, which makes complete sense. The publication also claims that the long filming hours played a part in the decision.

"The ladies were done with long hours and think they are famous enough without the show to make all their money online," the source said.

They added: "They're business people first and foremost, and it's very obvious to those around them who are in the know that they can make a ton more for a lot less hassle by pursuing opportunities elsewhere."

TMZ also previously reported that the family no longer needed the show to promote the Kardashian brand and claimed dwindling ratings played a part as less and less people tuned into the show.

However, it sounds like they haven't ruled out future spin-off series with the insider saying they're still open to working with KUWTK executive producer Ryan Seacrest and the E! Network.

"Right now, they all want a break to consider their options, and that will include spinoff possibilities with Ryan Seacrest involved because they're still incredibly loyal and grateful to him as well as the network."

With 18 plus seasons of re-runs and potential spin-offs, we definitely haven't seen the last of the Kardashians on our TV screens.
