Korean rapper Iron has passed away

26 Jan – Another tragedy rocked the South Korean entertainment industry, after rapper Iron was found dead yesterday (25 Jan).

The news was confirmed by the Seoul Jungbu Police Station, stating that they were called by a security guard of an apartment building who stated that they have discovered Iron bleeding and lying on the grass at 10.25am.

He was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.

"At this point, we are unclear as to whether he died by suicide. We are currently investigating the exact cause of death," the police rep said.

Iron, real name Jung Hun-cheol, was no stranger to controversy throughout his career, having been convicted for smoking marijuana in 2016 and again in 2018 for multiple accounts of assault against his ex-girlfriend.

He was under arrest yet again in December 2020, after assaulting his roommate - who was a minor at the time - with a baseball bat.

The "Show Me the Money 3" alumnus has released one album throughout his career, the 2016's "Rock Bottom".

He was 29.

Earlier this week, it was reported that model-actress Song Yoo-jung had passed away at the age 26, though no cause of death was reported.
