King Charles's "Hot Equerry" Stepped Out for a Rare Appearance on Christmas Day
Sorry, ladies—he's taken.
Major Eye Candy reported for Christmas duty.
On Wednesday, King Charles's equerry Lieutenant Colonel Johnathan (Johnny) Thompson—who first went viral for his dashing good looks following the death of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022—made a rare public appearance in Sandringham with the rest of the royal family on Christmas Day.
In a clip shared to social media, Charles's "hot equerry" was spotted trailing behind Kate Middleton carrying an armful of flowers during the royal walkabout, as she greeted well-wishers in the crowd. Swoon.
This past February, Thompson transitioned into a more private position after it was understood that he did "not enjoy the public attention he received after attending several high-profile events with the king," says The Times. A palace source added that Thompson “remains senior equerry to the King and the Queen, in a more executive and less public-facing role."
After a video of him went viral on TikTok following King Charles's accession to the throne, interest in Thompson only intensified on coronation day when another clip of the equerry was posted online of him helping the King change robes at Westminster Abbey. It's been viewed 115,000 times on X.
Though he's remained mostly out the spotlight since the transition earlier this year, Thompson delighted fans with an unexpected sighting with the rest of the royal family on Easter. Several months later, he made headlines again for his engagement to Olivia Lewis, a PR executive that Thompson reportedly met while working for Charles and Camilla.
