KIMANIS, Jan 13 (Bernama) -- A total of nine police personnel will cast their ballots tomorrow as early voters in the Kimanis parliamentary by-election.
Election Commission (EC) chairman Azhar Azizan Harun said they will vote at the operations room of the Membakut police station here.
“The early voting centre will open from 8 am to noon,” he said in a statement today.
Azhar Azizan said agents of the candidates and election observers appointed by the EC will witness the early voting.
He also said that the EC will carry live streaming of the early voting process on the EC Facebook page.

He added that after the early voting, the ballot boxes will be kept at the Beaufort police district headquarters (IPD) and the ballots will be counted on polling day on Jan 18 at the vote tallying centre at the Meeting Room, Beaufort District Office.
The Kimanis by-election is a straight fight between Datuk Karim Bujang of Warisan and Datuk Mohamad Alamin of Barisan Nasional (BN).
Kimanis, which comprises the Bongawan and Membakut state constituencies, has 29,664 voters, including nine early voters and one absentee who is abroad.
The gender breakdown is 14,800 men and 14,864 women. Bongawan has 16,273 voters and Membakut has 13, 391 voters.
