Kim Kardashian Is Releasing a Documentary About Her Criminal Justice Reform Work

• Kim Kardashian just dropped the trailer for a new documentary that she's been working on about mass incarceration in America.

• Kim has been involved with prison reform since 2018, when she helped get clemency for Alice Johnson.

Okay, so remember last year, when Kim Kardashian announced that she was studying to become a lawyer after helping Alice Johnson get out of prison? Well, Kim very much hasn't forgotten about her mission to help with prison reform in America and will be releasing a documentary on Oxygen about it.

The doc is titled Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project, and it won't come out until April 5. According to Daily Mail, "the two-hour film will show Kardashian visiting prisons and working alongside legal experts on four cases of people they believe have been unfairly sentenced."

Kim also just dropped the trailer on her Instagram, and she starts out by saying, "There is a mass incarceration problem in the United States," and then gets emotional, adding, "I went into this knowing nothing, and then my heart completely opened up...People deserve a second chance."

And at a Television Critics Association event this weekend, Kim talked about the project, saying that she's not worried about people who may think she's doing this for the wrong reasons: "I'm very used to criticism, so nothing really fazes me." She also added, "I really genuinely just stay focused on the cases and the people. I'm not doing it for publicity. I really do care."

Plus, if you wanted a lawyer update, according to the New York Times, Kim is hoping to take her bar exam by 2022 and just finished her first year of an apprenticeship program. Pretty impressive, no?
