Kim Kardashian Exudes Mob Wife Energy in a Massive Fur Coat and Pantaleggings
Appropriate gala attire? Well, according to Kim Kardashian, waist-high spandex boots and a furry coat straight from Balecianga’s pre-Fall 2024 collection fit the bill.
The Skims founder made an appearance at the 2024 Lo Máximo Awards, held in Los Angeles, on Thursday night. For the occasion, Kim made formal attire uniquely her own. She opted for full-out, ’60s-leaning glam via a delightfully shaggy black coat, which she wore off the shoulder, with an exposed decolletage and seemingly no top. For bottoms, she opted for a pair of Balenciaga’s buzzy, skintight pantaleggings.

Here’s how “The Garden of Time” will pair with “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”
A pair of chunky diamond chain earrings added a touch of glitz to the monochrome ensemble. Kim also debuted a new icy blonde updo at the event, featuring dark-brown roots that further emphasized the mob wife aesthetic of the fit.
The star-studded event, also attended by the likes of Jane Fonda and Babyface, raised money for Homeboy Industries, a nonprofit focused on gang rehabilitation. Kim was on hand to receive recognition for her commitment to criminal justice reform. The reality star dedicated notable time to the issue this week, in fact. On Friday, she met with Vice President Kamala Harris for a roundtable that included, in part, conversations about issuing pardons and lessening criminal charges for marijuana charges.
Then, the multi-hyphenate kept it professional in a low-cut black suit.
Kim's gala look is the latest in what appears to be a bonafide resurgence of her love for Demna at Balenciaga. Last month, the star flew out to Paris for the fashion house’s Fall/Winter 2024-2025 show. There, she wore a very Y2K-inspired fit from the brand, with multiple layers of shirts stacked on top of shirts. (One which immediately reminded us of browsing through Hot Topic as teens.) She’s also fronted a new campaign for the brand this year, showing off her treasure trove of bags from the French luxury house.
