Khloé Kardashian Turns on Dems Over L.A. Fires
Khloé Kardashian slammed the Democrat mayor of Los Angeles over her response to the wildfires plaguing the region.
After L.A. fire chief Kristin Crowley spoke out about the impact of budget cuts at the fire department, Kardashian took to Instagram to back Crowley and criticize mayor Karen Bass.
“I stand by YOU Chief Crowley!!!!” the reality star wrote. “You spoke the truth and you had tears in your eyes because I can tell you didn’t even want to say that but it was THE TRUTH!!!!”
“Mayor Bass you are a joke!!!!” she added.
While Bass had denied that budget cuts have hindered firefighters’ ability to battle the blaze, Crowley has unequivocally disagreed.
“My message is the fire department needs to be properly funded,” Crowley told Fox LA. “It’s not.”
Pressed on whether the city had failed the fire department, she eventually said, “Yes.”

The fires have killed at least 11 people, displaced more than a hundred thousand, and destroyed around 12,000 structures, according to The Associated Press.
The Kardashian sisters—Khloé, Kourtney, and Kim—have largely expressed support for Democratic politicians, especially since Donald Trump’s ascendancy in 2016.
Kourtney and Kim backed Hillary Clinton during Trump’s first run at the presidency, while Khloé—who admits to being more reticent about politics—questioned Trump’s fitness for the office, according to People.
Ahead of the 2024 election, the family was much more quiet about politics, with none of the three sisters offering support for either Trump or Kamala Harris, the U.S. Mirror reported.
Some Kardashian fans noted Khloé‘s reticence in wading into politics.
“She only cares about issues that affect her directly,” one Reddit user wrote. Another added, “I find it interesting how she’s so quiet about politics unless she wants to parrot uneducated conservative talking points.”
Kardashian isn’t the only celebrity to air criticism against California’s Democratic leadership over the fires.
Actor Mel Gibson, whose house burned in the fires while he was in Texas appearing on Joe Rogan’s podcast, slammed Gov. Gavin Newsom, alleging that “he didn’t do anything” to defend against potential fires.
Meanwhile, outspoken MAGA actor James Woods pinned blame for the fires on “liberal idiots” who supported politicians like Bass and Newsom.
