Khloé Kardashian Celebrates Her 40th Birthday with a New Darker Hair Color — See the Transformation!

"I love the chocolate vibes," the reality star said in a Snapchat video unveiling her new look

Khloé Kardashian is ringing in a new decade with a new hair color.

The reality star, who turned 40 on Thursday, June 27, celebrated her birthday by swapping her strawberry blonde hair color for a chocolatey brunette. Kardashian shared the news with fans via Snapchat, where she showed off her freshly dyed locks. Her long, straight hair is now a mid-tone brown with subtle honey highlights.

In the clip, shared on Wednesday, June 26, the Good American founder explains that her previous hair color was simply "too much maintenance."

"Okay, so I colored my hair again," she shared. "My hair was red for, I don't know, like a month or so I would say... and as much as I love red, every single time you wash it, it comes out, it fades color. Towards the end, my hair was, like, honey, maybe strawberry, very light strawberry blonde."

Kardashian continued, "Anyways, more power to all the redheads out there, you guys are dedicated. I have been platinum blonde and that is so much easier for me than the red. The red was just too much maintenance."

"I love the chocolate vibes," she added, saying that her "hair will be so happy that I'm not bleaching it for a while."

The mom of two unveiled her copper hair, a departure from her usual blonde, in May 2024.

“Strawberry Shortcake Vibes 🍓🍓,” she captioned an Instagram carousel post. “Thank you my sweet @traceycunningham1 for giving me the prettiest strawberry red 🍓 @priscillavalles Glam: @ash_kholm @hairinel.”

The star has been celebrating her 40th birthday in style. In addition to hosting a pool party with her closest friends and family, including the Kardashian-Jenner kids and grandkids, she's also documenting the bounty of floral arrangements and various other gifts she's received. On Instagram Stories, Kardashian shared snaps of bouquets from her mom, Kris Jenner, and Corey Gamble, her brother, Rob Kardashian, Scott Disick, Malika Haqq and many more.

Kardashian even received a special birthday message from country music icon Dolly Parton.

"OMG OMG OMG @dollyparton... I don't have words," she wrote alongside the clip, which she shared on Instagram Stories.

"She knows my name, you guys, I don't even know what's happening!" the Kardashians star continued. The singer, 78, also sent the birthday girl some sweet treats, including her original whipped cheesecake and a pink 40th birthday cake.
