KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 — Umno's Khairy Jamaluddin today said a purported leaked chain of WhatsApp messages allegedly instructing for the destruction of party deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan's chances at winning the Rembau parliamentary seat is "fake".

In a Twitter post, Khairy said there was no need to spread such defamatory content: "Fake. No need to spread black ops defamation, 'source: trust me bro' like this."

He added that a police report and a report with online regulator Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will be lodged, including the Twitter account of a user known as "Dr. Bigger balls".

Khairy included a link to a tweet by that Twitter user, but that tweet has since been deleted at the time of writing.

Khairy called for a rejection of slander and dirty politics and urged for a focus on #KitaJagaSungaiBuloh and #KJ4SB, which are part of his campaign to win the Sungai Buloh seat in the 15th general election (GE15).

Other Twitter users who responded to Khairy's statement have provided screenshots of tweets by two Twitter users, including "Dr. Bigger balls", urging for action against the duo.

The tweets which appeared to have been deleted had shown screenshots of the alleged WhatsApp conversation, which purportedly instructed for the splitting of votes in Rembau to hamper Mohamad's chances there as an election candidate.
