Kevin Bacon disguised himself as a regular person for a day: 'This sucks'
The "MaXXXine" actor donned special effects makeup for a day of hiding from his fame.
Kevin Bacon has been famous since Footloose made him a household name in 1984, so he thought he’d take a crack at blending in with all us normies for one day.
“I went to a special effects makeup artist, had consultations, and asked him to make me a prosthetic disguise,” Bacon said in a new interview with Vanity Fair.
The Tremors star felt that extreme measures were necessary because of how often people recognize him in public.

“I’m not complaining, but I have a face that’s pretty recognizable. Putting my hat and glasses on is only going to work to a certain extent,” he said.
Bacon wore a prosthetic nose, fake teeth, and glasses to the tourist-rich Grove shopping complex in Los Angeles.
“Nobody recognized me. People were kind of pushing past me, not being nice. Nobody said, ‘I love you,'” Bacon joked. “I had to wait in line to, I don’t know, buy a f---ing coffee or whatever. I was like, ‘This sucks. I want to go back to being famous.’”

Kevin Bacon in 'Maxxxine'Fame runs in Bacon’s family — his father, Edmund Bacon, was a well-known urban planner who appeared on the cover of Time magazine. When asked if his dad’s fame inspired him to become an actor, Bacon responded, “A hundred percent.”
“In terms of giving credit to my parents, and course I give all the credit to them, my mother was very much on the artistic side and really encouraged acting,” he continued. “They both encouraged as much creativity as possible in everything — dance, music, theater, painting, sculpture, whatever.”
Bacon stars in both Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, which is now streaming on Netflix, and MaXXXine, which hits theaters Friday
