Kent Airport Becomes Truck Park as Freight Ban Continues

Hundreds of trucks were stuck on the M20 motorway in the south of England, or parked on the runway of a disused airport, as France’s ban on UK freight continued on December 22.

This clip, posted by Jules Serkin on Twitter, shows the trucks parked up at the airport. The runway at the disused Manston Airport, near Ramsgate, has space for around 4,000 trucks, Kent Online said.

UK officials were in talks with their French counterparts as they sought to have the ban, initially set for 48 hours, lifted, the BBC said. Credit: Jules Serkin via Storyful
