Kenanga IB bags seven awards at Bursa Excellence Awards

KUALA LUMPUR, March 22 — Kenanga Investment Bank Bhd picked up seven awards at the 10th annual Bursa Excellence Awards 2022 ceremony held here recently.

The independent Malaysian investment bank received awards for Best Overall Equities Participating Organisation (Champion), Best Retail Equities Participating Organisation (Champion), Best Online Retail Participating Organisation (Champion), Best Remisier, Margaret Heng (Champion), Best Remisier, Chew Yee Seng (Second Runner Up), Best Institutional Derivatives Trading Participant (Champion) and Best Overall Derivatives Trading Participant (First Runner Up).

This is the third year in a row that the Kenanga Group was named ‘Champion’ in the Best Overall Equities Participating Organisation category, building on its previous wins in 2022 and 2021.

Its group managing director Datuk Chay Wai Leong said Kenanga are honoured to receive this recognition.

“It is a testament to the unwavering hard work and dedication of our teams who have pursued excellence and provided exceptional service to our clients, even amidst challenging market conditions,” he said in a statement today.

The Bursa Excellence Awards 2022 brought together and celebrated the achievements of the industry’s top-performing brokers and market intermediaries in 24 categories with 54 awards being presented.

Last year, Bursa Malaysia witnessed active trading of securities, at an Average Daily Trading Value of RM2.1 billion.

The exchange saw 35 Initial Public Offerings (IPO) in that year, the highest since 2007, which raised a total of RM3.5 billion and contributed RM11.15 billion to the overall market capitalisation of RM1.74 trillion.
