Kelly Chen believes sons will learn more studying abroad

30 Sep – Hong Kong singer-actress Kelly Chen recently admitted that she has plans to send her sons abroad as soon as they are in high school.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who spoke about her two sons Chace and Riley recently, shared that both she and her husband studied overseas when they were younger and believes that it would be good for the two of them as well.

"My parents sent me to Japan when I was a teenager and then I studied in New York. I realised that I learned a lot faster this way," she said.

Kelly added that by sending her two sons abroad, they would learn to grow up and be independent instead of relying on the parents and domestic helpers to solve their problem.

When mentioned that it was recently revealed that a parent would have to fork out HKD 2 million in tuition fees for a child to study overseas, Kelly exclaimed, "That means I need HKD 4 million for my two boys. I never calculated that number!"

Kelly's eldest son Chace is currently ten, while Riley is seven.
