Kelle Bryan has revealed she taught her son about slavery after he was told he couldn’t play with a toy “because he was brown”.

The Loose Women panellist and Eternal star shared last year that another child had once told her little boy Regan that he couldn’t play with a particular toy because of his skin colour.

According to the Mirror, she decided to teach Regan a bit about slavery after the incident, which apparently took place when he was five.

She was quoted as saying: “I educated Regan about slavery.

"I shared some of my experiences from my childhood and what I went through. I experienced a lot of racism growing up.

“I also took him to the slave museum in Liverpool.”

“Now he handles things really well,” she added.

Bryan opened up about the incident with her son, who is now nine, during a chat on Loose Women last year.

She said: “Regan came home really upset and he was saying, 'Mummy, why would they say that?'

“Because I've brought my children up to be quite colourless, colour blind, in terms of not judging anybody.

"So for Regan to come to me and be quite upset like that, I was like, 'Actually, I need to now deal with this differently.'

“I had raised them in that way, but actually the real world that they are living in isn't the same, unfortunately.”

Bryan, 46, also has a daughter named Kayori with her husband Jay Gudgeon.
