The family of Kaylee Gain, the Missouri teen who reportedly suffered brain injuries following a violent fight outside of her high school, has shared a pair of promising updates about her condition.

On Friday, Kaylee's family wrote in a GoFundMe page update that she is now "breathing on her own" — two weeks after the March 8 fight that her family said left her with "traumatic brain injuries."

"We are happy to share that Kaylee is breathing on her own, remains stable and the best news so far is that we have been moved out of the ICU," family member Clinton Gain wrote in an update through one of Kaylee's campaigns, which has raised over $40,000 as of Saturday afternoon.

An additional fundraiser for the teen and her family has since raised over $380,000. "We are truly blessed by the outpouring of support and your prayers. It means so much to us!" the family wrote.

Kaylee's mother April shared an additional update on her daughter's condition on Friday, reiterating on one of the GoFundMe pages that the teen is "now stable, breathing on her own, and was moved out of the ICU."

"I wanted to come on here to first and foremost and thank everyone for the generosity, love & support u have shown for Kaylee and our family," she continued. "To everyone that has donated and also sent there [sic] thoughts , love and prayers we wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts the overwhelming amount of support for Kaylee and our family has been amazing."

"She still has an incredibly long journey ahead of her but she is strong. We will update Kaylee's gofundme's when we can as changes continue to happen," April added. "Thank you again to everybody for your support we are so grateful!"

The brawl that Kaylee was involved in took place near Gain's St. Louis County High School and was captured on camera, the St. Louis County Police Department previously told PEOPLE. Authorities found the victim “suffering a severe head injury,” before video of the fight went viral — showing a girl slamming the victim’s head into the ground.

Kaylee's family previously said that she was in critical condition following the fight and noted that she was “fighting hard to stay alive and heal."

“Her mother and father are staying by her side night and day hoping to bring her back to the Kaylee they know and love,” one of the GoFundMe pages said. “Your support would help with lost wages and piling up medical bills due to intensive care treatment.”

Police previously shared that they arrested a 15-year-old student in connection with the fight, per local station KSDK. The student's name has not been released due to their age.

The Independent and other outlets reported that a new Change.org petition has urged authorities to not charge the student who was arrested as an adult, arguing that she was "seen defending herself from harassment and bullying" in the video.

After the fight, the Hazelwood School District shared on Facebook that it would offer emotional and crisis support to students in need.

“It is a tragedy anytime children are hurt. Bullying and fighting in the community is an issue for which we all need to take ownership and work towards a resolution for the sake of our children,” the statement read.
