Kathryn Dennis Cries, Says She Doesn’t ‘Deserve to Be Here’ in Dashcam Footage from DUI Arrest
The 'Southern Charm' alum was arrested on May 20 on suspicion of driving with alcohol that had been opened
Kathryn Dennis was not happy with police after she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
On May 20, the former Southern Charm star was stopped by the Goose Creek Police Department in Berkeley, S.C. just after 10 p.m. local time and charged with a DUI for transport of alcohol that had been opened, according to a police report obtained by PEOPLE.
In dashcam footage of the arrest obtained by TMZ, Dennis, 32, walked in a straight line and did a balance test before a police officer handcuffed her.
While in the police car, the mother of two told the police, “Y’all are ruining my life and my kids," as she accused them of not doing a "field sobriety test" on her or a "blood alcohol test."
“It's really messed up for you guys to just take people in, though, when they have kids, because it could really affect their children’s lives," Dennis said, referring to her son, St Julien (Saint), and daughter Kensington, who she shares with ex Thomas Ravenel. "Not my life, I don’t give a f--- about me, it's my kids. I don’t deserve to be here at all."
Upon arriving at the police station, the officers removed Dennis's dog from the car, and she started to cry. "I want my dog, he means everything to me," she told the officers, who informed her that the dog would go to an animal shelter overnight. "This is bulls---. I just want my dog to be OK."
According to the police report, Dennis "had glossy eyes and an odor of alcohol coming from her" when she was stopped by police after a three-car collision, and one of the responding officers told a colleague that Dennis was "possibly impaired."
As a result of the arrest, the former Bravo star is required to appear in court on June 4.

Dennis, who departed Southern Charm after eight seasons in January 2023, was previously involved with authorities in South Carolina in October when a vehicle registered in her name was involved in an alleged hit-and-run, PEOPLE confirmed at the time.
The SUV struck a school resource officer outside an elementary school, and required medical attention, while the vehicle "did not stop at the scene of the collision" but was later located at Dennis's address, Lance Corporal Nick Pye of the South Carolina Highway Patrol told PEOPLE.
