Kate Middleton's Old Roommate Shared a Never-Before-Seen Photo From Her College Days
And added the sweetest message for the princess.
One of Kate Middleton's university pals, Laura Warshaur, shared a never-before-seen snapshot of the princess back in July—and until now, it's flown under the radar. According to The Sun, Middleton and Warshaur lived in the dorms together at St. Salvator's Hall at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Middleton attended the prestigious institution from 2001 and 2005 and it's famously where she met her future husband, Prince William.
In the Instagram post, Warshaur shared a sweet message reminiscing about how kind and caring Middleton was when they were in school together. The Princess of Wales's signature brown hair is on display as she smiles and wears a chunky cream-colored turtleneck. The post went up a few months after Middleton shared she had been undergoing treatment for cancer.
"Sending love to Kate Middleton, the future Queen of England and my university dormmate! This was us at a Hope Street flat party. I have the loveliest college memories with Kate," Warshaur wrote. "She is the kindest, most caring, down-to-earth, genuine person, and it’s incredible to see her shining so brightly and inspiring the world with her compassion and courage."
People notes that Warshaur was not one of the roommates that William and Middleton had when they lived together at 13A Hope Street. The publication reminded everyone that William and Middleton lived on separate floors of the home at the time and he tried his best to impress her by making bolognese.
"I would have to wander in and save something that was going [wrong]," Middleton later joked about the future king's culinary prowess.
Before Middleton and William's wedding, Warshaur opened up to People about meeting the future princess for the first time.
"I remember the first time I met Kate, thinking, 'Wow,'" Warshaur shared. "She just had a lovely way about her."
As for Prince William, Warshaur noted, "When he was around, it wasn't like there was all this pomp and circumstance. He could literally just walk around as a normal guy and people didn't make a big deal of it."
