The Duchess of Cambridge suited up alongside Prince William to honor emergency frontline heroes who have worked tirelessly to keep the United Kingdom safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a new image released by Kensington Palace, the duchess appears with her husband for a special presentation of the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards. The special recognition was given on behalf of the nation to recognize National Health Service (NHS) frontline workers helping combat the battle against the coronavirus. For the event, Kate wore a suit in navy blue—the official color of the National Health Service—paired with a brighter-blue button-down blouse, a leather belt, and dainty hoop earrings.

Nominated by thousands of public civilians, the NHS was represented by six health care workers who met with the royal couple. Will and Kate presented the group with the Pride of Britain Award at Britain's oldest hospital, St. Bartholomew's in London. The filmed presentation will premiere during the 2020 Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards on Sunday, November 1, on ITV.

"The devastating impact of the coronavirus pandemic has reminded us as a nation of how much we owe to the thousands of NHS workers who have gone far beyond the call of duty this year," said William during his address. "They have worked tirelessly around the clock, with humility and compassion, in the most challenging of circumstances, putting their own lives on the line to help others. It is fitting that we are here today at Britain's oldest hospital to thank and celebrate our NHS staff and to honor them with a Pride of Britain award."

Kate echoed her husband's sentiment, mentioning how inspired she and the rest of Britain have been watching workers risk everything to combat the novel virus.

"Many have had to leave their families for weeks on end, some have come out of retirement to help, while others have stepped into new roles to play their part in the fight against coronavirus. And it is not just the medical teams—all NHS staff have played a crucial role through this time," said the duchess. "During lockdown, we joined people up and down the country to applaud the NHS and our key workers each week. Their hard work still goes on and we remain indebted to them for all they do."
