Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, attended a Remembrance Day Service at The Cenotaph in London this morning.

For the occasion, Duchess Kate wore an Alexander McQueen coat, a Philip Treacy hat, and a pair of diamond and pearl earrings.

The jewelry is important as the earrings belong to Queen Elizabeth II, who was also in attendance at the commemorative service. Twitter account @KateMCambridge noted that the Duchess of Cambridge had borrowed the egg-shaped pearls from Her Majesty.

The queen regularly wears pearl earrings, but she hasn't been photographed wearing this particular pair in quite some time. Queen Elizabeth was spotted wearing the stunning jewels during a royal walkabout in 1977, in honor of the Silver Jubilee.

Duchess Kate has worn the queen's jewelry on multiple occasions, and has worn these diamond and pearl earrings to many public events. In 2019, the duchess was photographed wearing the jewels on November 9 at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Kensington Palace Instagram account shared photos from 2020's Remembrance Day Service and revealed in the caption, "On #RemembranceSunday The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined The Queen and Members of the Royal Family for the annual Remembrance Day Service at The Cenotaph." The caption continued, "This year the @RoyalBritishLegion encouraged us all to to take to our windows and doorsteps for a two minutes’ silence at 11am on Sunday November 8, to remember and honour those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom."
