She stood alongside the Duchess of Edinburgh to watch on as her husband Prince William followed his father King Charles in laying a wreath at the Cenotaph memorial in central London.

The queen’s equerry Major Ollie Plunket laid a wreath on her behalf, as she is currently recovering from a chest infection and was absent from the ceremony.

The UK’s prime minister Sir Keir Starmer and other political figures also laid wreaths, before a 2-minute silence was observed to remember all the fallen in war.
