Kanye West serves sushi on naked woman at birthday party, draws brickbats on social media
KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 — American rapper Kanye West is in the news, yet again.
This time for serving sushi off the naked body of a woman during his recent 46th birthday celebration that was attended by his current partner Bianca Censori and daughter North, Page Six reported.
In a now viral clip, the woman was lying on a table while sushi was laid out on her body covering her modesty.
Social media users criticised the celebrity for his antics, describing it as misogyny.
A Twitter user with the handle @laputivuelta2 said they could not understand how West has so many fans.
“Everything I hear about him is so disrespectful, rude and silly and incredibly, he always manages to improve himself.”
Another user with the handle @mutohd pointed out that West conveniently forgot his daughter was in attendance.
Meanwhile, fellow Twitter user with the handle @TheFalanBlake corrected the misconception.
She said the model was not naked per se, for sanitation reasons.
“They wear nude bikinis and the food is placed on banana leaves not their skin directly. Their body is like a table top. It’s artistic and beautiful when executed properly.”
West was previously married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian before the pair divorced in 2022.
They have four children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
Following his antisemitic comments made in 2022, brands including Adidas, Gap and Balenciaga cut ties with him.
