Kansas Daughter Persuades Father to Vote to Protect Abortion Rights

A Kansas father said on Tuesday, August 2, that he changed his original stance and voted to protect abortion rights in the state after his daughter’s “campaigning,” the Kansas City Beacon reported.

Kansans voted “no” on a constitutional amendment that would have affirmed there is no constitutional right to abortion in the state in Tuesday’s primary election, according to the Kansas Secretary of State.

Video posted on Tuesday by Marco Schaden, a reporting intern for the Kansas City Beacon, shows a 61-year-old father who says he changed his original stance on the amendment after discussions with his 20-year-old daughter, according to Schaden.

The father said, “Doing a little bit more research, I found out that my beliefs in right-to-life really don’t apply in this particular case.” Credit: Marco Schaden / Kansas City Beacon via Storyful

- Attitude. in fact, my daughter campaigning probably changed that more than I did, or more than signs or that type of thing. And doing a little bit more research, I found out that my beliefs in right to life really don't apply here in this particular case.
