Just 13 Hilarious Photos of George Clooney and Brad Pitt's Friendship Over the Years
Brad Pitt and George Clooney have been friends for decades and clearly, the two bring out each others' inner jokester
Brad Pitt and George Clooney first got wind of each other when they both auditioned for Thelma and Louise back in the '90s. And while the former wound up snagging the iconic role as J.D., the two would manage to forge a formidable friendship in the years that followed.
Not only are Pitt and Clooney one of Hollywood's tightest pairs, but they're also great collaborators having worked on several projects together, most notably, the Ocean's franchise.
"We’ve been friends for a long time," Clooney told GQ in a recent joint interview. "And it’s fun because we also check in on each other every once in a while, which is an important part of this. Things get complicated in life and you always have to make sure everybody’s okay."
Pitt also agreed, revealing that the Hail Caesar actor is a great sounding board for him. "I’ll call George on numerous occasions when things get bumpy," he said.
As for working together, Clooney jokingly told PEOPLE, "There's nothing good about it. It's all a disaster," before adding, "It's fun to work with people you know."
Below, check out some of Brad Pitt and George Clooney's hilarious friendship moments.
Bunch of Jokesters
Clooney might be known to be the joker of the two, but Pitt's goofier side was on full display as he and Matt Damon made silly faces during a photo call for Ocean's Eleven back in 2001.
Deep Cuts
Suffice it to say, whatever "Brad Pitt" story Clooney was telling, the subject was clearly embarrassed. The two wore matching ensembles while attending the Ocean's Thirteen Handprint and Footprint Ceremony at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood in 2007.
Star Power
What do you get the guy who has everything? Clearly, your autograph on his custom suit.
Candid Moments
Whatever the joke was, we want in. Pitt, Clooney and Damon were pictured sharing a good laugh while on the red carpet at the 60th Cannes Film Festival in 2007.
A Star Is Born
Clooney playfully caught his pal's best angles while he was being interviewed during the 65th Venice International Film Festival in 2008.
Look Over There
Is the friendship even real if you and your bestie aren't people-watching (with running commentary) at events?
A Casual Boat Ride
A true friend listens to all your stories, no matter how over-the-top. Pitt and Clooney were pictured locked into a seemingly interesting narrative as they arrived to the Burn After Reading photo call by boat, during the 65th Venice Film Festival in 2008.
Saying Hello
Pitt took a moment to stop by his friend's table at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards in 2012.
Well Wishes
The Fight Club actor gave his friend a proud embrace after Clooney won a best actor trophy at the 2012 Critics Choice Movie Award for his role in The Descendants.
Still the One
Over the course of their decades-long friendship, George Clooney and Brad Pitt have been in several projects together — the three Oceans films, Burn After Reading and If — and they still like hanging in their down time. The two were seen chatting and laughing in-between scenes of the new film Wolfs.
Men at Work
And for as long as they have been acting, they know a quick look over the script before filming never hurt anyone.
Still at It
Evidently, Clooney never gets tired of trolling his friend ...
Happy to Be Here
... and by now, Pitt has just learned to enjoy the ride.
