“Words cannot express how excited I am to officially be a part of the Amazon family,” said Gladden. “’Jury Duty’ was a remarkable experience for me, and one that introduced me to so many creative and inspiring people. I’m now looking forward to utilizing those new relationships to develop projects for Amazon MGM Studios.”
Gladden was working as a solar contractor in San Diego before he became the (unwitting) star of the Freevee comedy series “Jury Duty.” Gladden believed he was selected to serve on the jury, unaware that everyone else involved in the “trial” was an actor and that the whole thing was a hoax.
“At the heart of ‘Jury Duty’ was a story about the power of human kindness, selflessness, and empathy,” said Lauren Anderson, head of AVOD, unscripted and targeted programming for Amazon MGM Studios. “Ronald exemplified this in his ability to genuinely connect with everyone around him, no matter their background, celebrity, or idiosyncrasies. We’re excited to collaborate with Ronald and create more opportunities to bring joy, positivity, and inspiration to Amazon customers.”
Gladden is repped by Artists First and Ziffren Brittenham.
“Jury Duty” proved to be a hit with viewers and critics alike. After the debut of the series April 2023, it went on to receive four Emmy nominations. Those include nods for best comedy series as well as best supporting actor in a comedy series for James Marsden, who starred as a fictionalized version of himself.
