Julie Chen Moonves Out Of ‘Big Brother’s Live Eviction Episode Due To Covid, Jerry O’Connell To Step In

Julie Chen Moonves will be out of Big Brother on Thursday night due to Covid, and Jerry O’Connell is stepping in.

The long-time CBS host shared in a statement on social media that she would not be hosting the eviction episode due on Thursday, September 12.

“Friday morning I woke up with a sore throat and went to see my good friend who is an ENT. That night he called to say I have Covid,” Chen Moonves said in a statement shared on Instagram. “Thankfully this is only the second time for me and it’s been very mild! No fever and just a sore throat.”

She continued, “Unfortunately, I am still testing positive as of this morning… despite feeling good, strong, and my cough being gone, I must sit tonight’s Big Brother live eviction show out.”

Stepping in for hosting duties is The Talk co-host Jerry O’Connell who Chen Moonves thanks “for filling in for me.”

“I hope Jerry fits in to my dress, has a ball and tells the houseguests I miss them but will be watching from home,” she added.

Chen Moonves ended her statement with a little humor, saying, “See? Chenbot is human after all! Love one another and enjoy tonight’s show.”

O’Connell made it official flashing the script for Big Brother ahead of stepping in for Chen Moonves on the show.

“Jerry O’Connell here; I’m one of the hosts of The Talk,” he said in a video shared on his Instagram. “Tonight, I’m going to be the substitute teacher for Big Brother. Julie Chen Moonves is a little under the weather, we love her.”
