Jubilation in Zurich as Switzerland Votes to Legalize Same-Sex Marriage

Nearly two-thirds of voters in Switzerland approved the government’s plan to introduce same-sex marriage in a referendum held on Sunday, September 26.

According to official reports, 64.1 percent voted to legalize same-sex marriages, with Zurich having the highest number – 69 per cent – of ‘Yes’ voters in the country.
