Jordanian soccer players with dwarfism aim for world stage

Jordan’s first soccer team for people with dwarfism

is challenging the stigma of dwarfism in the Arab world

Location: Amman

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) TEAM GOALKEEPER, EYAD AL ADAWI, SAYING:

"Jordanians, and Arabs in general, look at us and say: "Who are these people?" They don't see us. There are people with dwarfism who spend their lives at home and do not want to be seen. But we want to go out and prove that we can go anywhere, and to go around the whole world. Do not hide inside, go out and express yourself to the world. Do not be embarrassed."

The team was founded in 2019

and is comprised of players aged 25 to 35

They are now training for international tournaments
