JAKARTA, March 19 (Bernama) -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his wife, Iriana Joko Widodo, have tested negative for COVID-19.
"Iriana and I underwent the Covid-19 detection test four days ago, and the results are out. Alhamdulillah, it is negative," Jokowi said in a statement published on the Indonesian President’s official website at www.presiden.go.id today.
On March 15, Jokowi, along with his entire line-up of ministers underwent COVID-19 tests after one of the ministers was confirmed positive.
On March 14, Indonesia’s Minister of Transportation Budi Sumadi tested positive for the virus and he is currently being treated at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital in Jakarta.
As of noon today, the number of deaths due to the virus in Indonesia increased to 25, with a total of 309 positive cases.
