Joe Jonas is ready to share his inner-most thoughts with the world.
On Wednesday, July 17, the Jonas Brothers member announced that his new solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, is set for release on Oct. 18.
"This album is a celebration of gratitude, hope, and love. These songs reflect on my life from a bird’s-eye view acknowledging the many blessings around me," Joe, 34, said in a press release.
"When we take a moment to breathe, pause, and reflect on the positives, my hope is that we can find acceptance and ultimately peace in the present moment," he continued. "It’s okay to cry and mourn a loss – it’s part of the process to take care of ourselves and eventually enables us to be there for the people we care about."
In the statement, the singer-songwriter further explained that the album would speak to his "experiences of being a father, being a friend to oneself and others, and the happiness I've found in doing what I love for a living."

He then recalled an instance that stuck with him forever — and served as inspiration for the album.
"A director I once worked with had a handwritten note above his camera during filming that asked, 'What do you want them to feel?'. This question still resonates with me every time I step on stage or create new music," he said. "The ability to perform, connect deeply with an audience, and evoke positive emotions, or even healing, is a gift I cherish."
He concluded, "This album is a reflection and celebration of life. I hope it brings you as much joy as it brought me creating it. Please enjoy!"
On Friday, July 19, Joe will release the first single off the album titled "Work It Out." He first teased the song in a TikTok clip he captioned "even the baddies get saddies" in May.
During an appearance on Jake Shane's Therapuss podcast on July 11, Joe opened up about how the album came to be: a studio session with Alexander 23, Justin Tranter and more musicians that led to a song.

"I was listening to it, and I was like, 'Damn, I really like this song,' and I was starting to feel like, "I don’t know why but I want this song for myself,' not just the [Jonas] Brothers, and I also feel like it’s not DNCE, which is another band I’m in. I was like, 'I don’t know what it’s for, but I know I want to work on something. I feel the pull emotionally to work on music.'"
Before continuing with the project, Joe — who released his first solo album, Fastlife, in 2011 — spoke to his brothers Nick and Kevin. "I asked my brothers' blessings," he said. "I was like 'I don’t want to call it solo, but I want to go do something on my own, and I don’t feel like it’s DNCE, and I need to go just express stuff for myself.' And they were like, 'Go for it.' Nick booked a movie, Kevin was going to do another season of Claim to Fame, and so I had the window of time."
Once he got their blessing, he got to work and made the album in 2-3 weeks: "I’m just really excited. It’s the most personal music I have ever put out."
