Joe Flizzow shares music journey in "This is Johan"

5 Mar - Joe Flizzow is elated that his documentary, "This is Johan" is finally out after more than two years in the making.

The rapper and former one half of the rap duo Too Phat stated that they originally planned to film the documentary in a span of six months, but that it eventually took longer as the crew had to fly to various places and countries in order to get interviews from other artistes.

"They also needed various footages from my solo concerts and my performance at the Anugerah Juara Lagu. We didn't want to rush things because we want it to be a great piece of work and ensure that all the stories are valid," he said during a press conference promoting the documentary.

Joe, real name Johan Ishak, also said that he decided to document his own music journey so that everything would come from himself, rather than to have it being told from third parties.

"Most documentaries are made after an artiste has passed away. This way, I am able to share my stories while I am still alive," he added.

The documentary, directed by Barney Chua, can be watched on the streaming platform VIU.
