‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ Elevates Erin Irwin, Molly McNearney and Jennifer Sharron to Executive Producer

ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” has named Erin Irwin, Molly McNearney and Jennifer Sharron as executive producers. All three previously served as co-executive producers. Kimmel also continues as executive producer; Irwin, McNearney and Sharron fill the void left when former executive producer Sharon Hoffman left in January after a brief run.

“Erin, Molly and Jen are great producers who run what I believe is the best team in television,” Kimmel said. “I am very lucky to have them. This promotion is long overdue and well-deserved.”

All three are “Jimmy Kimmel Live” vets, and some even pre-date the ABC show with Kimmel. Irwin, for example, has worked with Kimmel for more than 23 years, starting as a producer on the pilot of “The Man Show” in 1998. She’s been producing “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” for 17 years, starting as a supervising producer and then a co-executive producer, which she has held for ten years.

McNearney, who is also married to Kimmel, is an 18-year “Jimmy Kimmel Live” vet, starting as an assistant to the executive producer and then writer’s assistant, staff writer and head writer. She’s been a head writer at “Jimmy Kimmel Live” for 14 years and co-executive producer for four.

Sharron joined “Jimmy Kimmel Live” at its 2003 debut, starting as an executive assistant to the show’s executive producers and then associate producer in the show’s field department. She eventually oversaw field department in 2011, was named supervising producer in 2015 and then tco-executive producer in 2017.

Irwin’s producing credits also include “The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show,” “Donny & Marie,” “Later,” and “The Wayne Brady Show,” for which she won an Emmy. All three have also worked on the Emmy Awards and the Oscars. McNearney, a Second City Chicago alum, also worked on the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” is currently in its 19th season. Co-executive producers are David Craig and Douglas DeLuca. “Jimmy Kimmel Live” is taped in front of a live studio audience at the El Capitan in Hollywood and produced by 1205 AM Productions LLC in association with Kimmelot and ABC Signature.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” averages 1.7 million viewers this season, which it reports outpaces NBC’s “The Tonight Show” (1.5 million).
