Jimmy Fallon's Oscars Dig At Donald Trump Is Comedy Gold

Jimmy Fallon turned the Oscars nominations Thursday into a delightful burn of President Donald Trump. (Watch the video below.)

The “Tonight Show” host mentioned that Sebastian Stan was nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of Trump in “The Apprentice.”

“You could tell Sebastian’s still in character because he’s already claiming he won,” Fallon quipped.

Fast-forward to the 47-second mark for Fallon’s Academy Awards bit, which also includes a jab at former President Joe Biden:

While Trump’s election denialism made for a nice zinger, it’s already had serious repercussions in his second term.

He pardoned 1,500 people charged in the Jan. 6, 2021, attempt to overturn the 2020 election at the U.S. Capitol, including many who were convicted of attacking police officers.

Trump has struggled at times to explain the act of clemency, diverting to unrelated false claims about murderers never being charged in Democratic-led cities, and untrue allegations about the George Floyd protests. And he’s still spouting his lies that the 2020 election was rigged.

“The Apprentice” attempted to capture the president at a different time, as a power-hungry real estate developer seeking guidance from ruthless attorney Roy Cohn (played by Jeremy Strong, who was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category.)

Trump’s team issued a cease-and-desist letter to try to block the movie’s release last year. Trump later railed against it on Truth Social, calling it a “politically disgusting hatchet job” when it came out in October.
