Jimmy Fallon Flags The Ultimate Irony Of Elon Musk's New Role
Jimmy Fallon joked about President-elect Donald Trump’s decision to install billionaire Elon Musk as the head of a new non-governmental unit that will seek to nix red tape and public spending.
Musk’s job-share with former GOP presidential nominee Vivek Ramaswamy in the so-called Department of Government Efficiency will aim “to help cut wasteful government spending,” Fallon noted on Wednesday’s episode of “The Tonight Show.”
“And who knows more about wasting a ton of money than the guy who spent $44 billion buying Twitter?” he zinged.
The value of the social media platform has plummeted since Musk’s purchase in 2022, after which he took it private. Musk sunk a reported $200 million into Trump’s victorious campaign.
