Jimmy Au warns fans of fake social media account
27 May – Hong Kong actor Jimmy Au has recently warned fans of a fake Instagram account using his name.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor posted a screenshot of the said account which bore his Chinese name Au Siu Wai (with an additional i), and wrote, "This IG account is not mine. Please be aware. Don't get cheated."
An hour after he posted the warning, the said account did what he was afraid would happen - luring followers with a money scam.
Jimmy proceeded to post a screenshot of the post on his official social media accounts with the same message as above, adding, "The scammer finally appears. Beware."
