Jillian Harris and fiancé Justin Pasutto have unveiled a new line of hand-knit dolls — and they got all their inspiration from their kids and their pets.

The Bachelorette alum, 44, tells PEOPLE the collection is the result of a "super-special collaboration" with fair trade doll company Cuddle + Kind. The three limited-edition dolls in the collection — which launches Tuesday, June 4 — are hand-knit, and fit well with Harris' aesthetic (think pastel hues and soft ginghams).

The company's mission is one that resonated with Harris, who says it's crucial for her to "feel really good" about anything she puts her name on.

"I want to feel like we really put our heart and soul into something," Harris tells PEOPLE, adding that, in the early stages of the collaboration, she and Pasutto knew that their collection should be personal.

"Justin and I were talking about, 'Oh, most of [Cuddle + Kind's] dolls are animals.' And we have two boxer dogs that not only we love, but they have a following of their own."

And so the couple modeled their three dolls after their own boxer dogs, Peaches and Nacho.

It wasn't just Nacho and Peaches who played a starring role in the collaboration, however. Pasutto says the entire family was involved in the design, to some extent.

"We were very heavily involved, and we enjoyed the process. And it wasn't something that just happened over a few meetings," Pasutto, 36, says. "We really carefully thought of the details when it came to how we could incorporate the dogs and the kids' personalities in the dolls."

Harris adds that the couple's two children — 8-year-old son Leo and 6-year-old daughter Annie — also served as inspiration.

"We thought, 'Okay, how are the kids going to feel if we launch these dolls, and they're [inspired by] the dogs?' So we thought, 'Okay, they'll be boxer dogs, but dressed like our kids,' " she laughs.

The resulting three dolls include Bea, "a girl dog who is sort of dressed like Annie in quintessential girly, rainbow, bows, hearts, flowers, the whole nine yards," Harris says. Then there's George, a doll who she says "is sort of dressed like Leo ... he's got his sort of skater shorts on and the ankle socks with the stripes, and he's got sort of a surfer vibe."

The final doll in the collection, Hayden, is meant to be gender-neutral, says Harris, which is "great if you're going to be buying for a baby or if you're just a family that really wants to support inclusivity."

She adds: "We had a lot of fun picking out the colors and making sure they matched the dogs and talking to the kids about the different patterns and colors. It was a lot of fun."

The couple, who have been engaged since December 2016, are the first to admit that designing a line of dolls with a romantic partner isn't always easy. Still, they say their strengths served to complement one another throughout the design process.

"Jill does come from a very creative design-forward background, and I have no idea what I'm doing," Pasutto, a former professional snowboarder, laughs. "But I definitely held my ground on a few of the design elements that I felt like really incorporated the dogs' personalities and the company Cuddle + Kind, what they're about too. [But] Jill definitely captained the ship."

Harris adds that while she has "better taste" than her fiancé, Pasutto has "better ideas."

"He's really forward-thinking, and he gets really excited about his ideas, where I feel like I'm kind of idea-ed out. But if you put an idea in front of me, I can make it look good. So that's sort of what happened here," she adds.

Of course, once the first batch of dolls from the collection were complete, Harris and Pasutto still had to get approval from the toughest critics of all: their kids.

"They thought it was pretty neat because Cuddle + Kind and our team actually curated a wardrobe for them that matched the dolls for the shoot," Harris says. "So we got the kids all dressed up and then brought the dolls out, and the kids are like, 'Wait a second. We're matching.' "

She continues: "And they know our and my aesthetic. If they see something that has hearts on it or gingham or whatnot, they'll be like, 'Oh, look, a Jilly dress.' ... I think our brand has a really specific aesthetic, and our kids know it as well. So when they saw the dolls, they were like, 'Of course, Mom and Dad designed us dolls that look like us and the dogs.'
