Jesy Nelson will not appear on tonight's (November 7) Little Mix: The Search live finale, it has been confirmed.

The group released their sixth studio album, titled Confetti, yesterday and will be wrapping up their X Factor-esque talent search show tonight, but one member will be missing.

A statement from the 'How Ya Doin'?' hitmakers reads: "Jesy is unwell and will not be appearing on tonight's final of Little Mix: The Search.

"She will also not be hosting or performing at tomorrow's MTV EMAs [Europe Music Awards]."

The statement obviously does not address what illness Jesy has come down with, and fans may be concerned following a coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak on the set in mid October, although the group tested negative at the time. Digital Spy have reached out for comment and will update as soon as we know more.

The group's official Twitter account stated that the girls are "so sad Jesy won't be able to join us tonight", but promised "such an amazing show" and that the group were "unbelievably proud of all 6 bands", and couldn't wait to see the final four perform live after last night's semi-finals.

The competition has been praised by viewers for the technical advice that the girls have given to the contestants, as well as how it cuts a lot of the clichéd elements out of the reality TV format.

Little Mix: The Search airs its live finale from 6pm tonight on BBC One.
