Jessie Reyez opens up about trying to find 'more happiness' in her everyday life

Jessie Reyez is sharing an important mental health tip with her fans.

On Wednesday, the 31-year-old Canadian singer took to Instagram to share a video of herself swimming, paired with an inspirational message about "finding happiness" every day.

"I've been working on finding more happiness. Even on proverbial and literal rainy days," the video reads as Reyez dives into a lake. "Ain't always easy but doing it more often works the muscle out and makes it a habit."

"Even when it rains, it can still be a great day," she added.

"I saw a post earlier that said comment something you learned in therapy (or have learned in self-reflection) so we can all grow and that I thought it was beautiful, so go head," she captioned the post.

Reyez's post was quickly met with praise from fans for her "transparency," and for sharing "such a simple but powerful," mental health tool.

"I love the transparency here. It's hard to admit that sometimes our everyday lives get dull and bleak sometimes. It's such a simple but powerful mental health tool to take more time to appreciate the little things that will make our day-to-day lives better and improve our overall happiness. Thank you for sharing!" one Instagram user commented.

Another added: "I love this for you!"

"Yes! I love this so much," someone else wrote, while another commented: "This is so important! No rain no flowers."

"This is why you are an inspiration! Raw, genuine, human," one fan chimed in.

"I needed this today! Thank you!" another commenter wrote.

This isn't the first time that Reyez has shared uplifting content on social media. Last week the "Figures" singer shared a video of herself doing pull-ups paired with a caption about failing "forward."

"A little bit of progress is progress nonetheless," she wrote. "Also wanted to keep my failed attempt in here cuz that’s how I was able to find the fourth one, by not being afraid to fail at it when I could only do three. Fail faster. It fails you forward."
