Meghan Markle’s former stylist Jessica Mulroney has returned to Instagram after a two-month break following a row over white privilege.

Mulroney got into a spat with Sasha Exeter, a black influencer who accused her of “textbook white privilege”, in June, which led to her having her show cancelled and taking a break from social media.

Exeter posted a 12-minute long video to Instagram claiming Mulroney “took offence” to her call to action for people to join the Black Lives Matter movement.

Exeter said: “What happened next was a series of very problematic behaviour and antics that ultimately resulted in her (Mulroney) sending me a threat in writing last Wednesday.”

Mulroney apologised in a statement on June 11, but the public row meant CTV dropped her from her show ‘I Do, Redo’, and her husband Ben Mulroney also decided to leave one of his jobs in an attempt to broaden the diversity of television.

Mother-of-three Mulroney returned to Instagram on Tuesday evening to share a video of her husband bringing out a birthday cake for their twin sons, Brian and John, who turned 10.

She wrote: “Happy 10th to my twin babies. My incredible family have had to witness their mom in the worst state. These two boys have not left my side and gave me the will to live and work hard when everything fell apart.

“They deserve the best birthday. Only up from here.”

Many of the comments welcomed her back after her hiatus, with people telling her she was “missed”.

Mulroney’s post came on the same day Finding Freedom, a biography of Harry and Meghan’s time in the Royal Family, was released and as someone once very close to the Duchess of Sussex, Mulroney is mentioned several times.

In one chapter, the authors claim it was Harry’s ease around Mulroney’s three children when they were dating that showed Meghan he would be a good parent one day.

Mulroney and Meghan are thought to have met in Toronto, Canada, where the duchess was filming Suits.

The pair are understood to be close friends, with Mulroney appearing at Meghan’s wedding and arriving in the car with the bridesmaids to the chapel. Brian and John were seven years old when they were page boys at the Windsor wedding, and Mulroney’s daughter, Ivy, was four when she was a bridesmaid.

She was a frequent face on Meghan’s instagram account before it was closed down as news of her relationship with Harry emerged.

Mulroney’s husband, TV presenter Ben Mulroney, slammed a report that Mulroney was calling Meghan non-stop and being met with silence.
