New Jersey Governor Declares Santa Claus an Essential Worker

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy declared Santa Claus a COVID-19 essential worker on December 24, allowing him to fly in and out of New Jersey with unlimited access from Christmas Eve to Christmas morning.

Footage of Gov Murphy taken in his office in Trenton shows him reassuring the boys and girls of New Jersey that Santa Claus will stick to all health precautions.

“He will not have to quarantine,” Gov Murphy says. "He will behave responsibly – we have that assurance. And this will be, thanks to Santa coming to New Jersey, a very merry Christmas. Credit: Governor Phil Murphy via Storyful
