Jerry Yan joins cast of "Lupin III"

14 Nov – Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan has been cast in the live-action adaptation of the popular Japanese manga, "Lupin III".

As reported on Jpop Asia website, the 36-year-old actor will be playing the role of Arsène Lupin III's top rival in his very first Japanese movie.

Meanwhile, the actor, who is most famous for his role as Dao Mingsi in the Taiwanese version of "Hana Yori Dango", will be joined by Japanese actor, Oguri Shun, who will be playing the titular character.

Meanwhile, Japanese idol group Arashi's singer Sakurai Sho and actor Tsumabuki Satoshi have also joined the cast.

"Lupin III" is a famous Japanese comic about the world's most wanted thief and the grandson of another famous thief of the same name created by French writer, Maurice Leblanc. The comic debuted in Weekly Manga Action in 1967 and created by Monkey Punch.

The movie has started filming in Bangkok and is scheduled for release next year.
