Jenny Slate Wears Sheer Dress Covered in ‘Hundreds of Safety Pins’ for “It Ends with Us” Promo: ‘I’m Brave’

Jenny Slate isn't afraid to risk her own personal safety for the sake of fashion.

On Sunday, Aug. 4, the actress, 42, shared a carousel of photos on Instagram featuring herself wearing a daring (and pointy!) Dauphinette dress to promote her upcoming film It Ends with Us, which stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The sheer white dress would be a statement piece all on its own thanks to the gauzy, see-through material, but it also happened to be adorned with hundreds of safety pins from top to bottom.

"Yes I love this outfit by @dauphinette.nyc and yes it is adorned with hundreds of safety pins and no i have not been stuck by one but I’m brave and yes you’re right it would be worth it," she captioned her carousel in part.

In addition to the pins, Slate's dress also featured a smattering of small red flowers — perhaps a nod to the many floral looks her costar Lively, 36, who plays the film's lead character Lily Bloom, has worn as she promoted the Colleen Hoover adaptation this summer.

Slate used her post to show off every angle of her dress, before ending her carousel with a video clip highlighting the easy movement of her lightweight ensemble. "Dressed up to promote 'It Ends with Us' but pleased to announce my new short film (shown here in full) entitled 'Mom‘s Rump' Starring me," she joked as she shimmied her backside for the camera.

For the most part, the Parks and Recreation alum let her show-stopping dress be the star. She paired the frock with pink eye shadow and rosy cheeks courtesy of makeup artist Kirin Bhatty and accessorized the look with a simple gold chain and several gold rings. Her brunette bob highlighted the look's flapper style.

Slate's pointed It Ends with Us dress comes on the heels of a weekend full of floral ensembles from Lively as she promoted the upcoming film around New York City. On Saturday, Aug. 3, she wore a Dauphinette dress of her own to a party for her latest venture, Betty Blooms.

The Gossip Girl actress' dress was hot pink and featured floral details throughout. She also wove flowers into her blonde braid.
