Jennifer Lopez has been accused of being rude and dismissive towards a reporter working the 2024 Met Gala red carpet on Monday.

In a clip shared on TikTok, USA Today reporter Anika Reed, who is positioned on the famous stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, innocently asks the artist, who was one of the co-chairs, “Who are you wearing tonight?” as she walks past.

“Schiaparelli,” she curtly answered.

The 54-year-old singer then proceeds to walk up the gala’s famous stairs, disregarding the remaining journalists clamouring for her attention from both sides of the carpet.

Seemingly not thinking anything of it, the reporter shared the clip on social media, writing: “#MetGala co-chair (and my birthday twin) JLo briefly told me about her look for the night: Schiaparelli.”

However, social media users thought otherwise and were quick to call out the hitmaker for the unwarranted “attitude” towards the journalist.

One user penned: “Ew why does she have the attitude?”

“The up & down stare is crazyyyy,” another commented under the TikTok post.

Another sarcastically remarked: “Her kindness radiates through the screen. I’m deaddd”.

Meanwhile others joked that Lopez seemed like a “ray of sunshine” and “bundle of joy.”

Despite fans remarks, there's no denying that the singer looked stunning at the Met Gala in her custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown, designed by Daniel Roseberry.

Lopez's brief response may have been influenced by her concentration on navigating the stairs in her restrictive gown, which “took more than 2.5 million silver-foil bugle beads and 800 hours of hand embroidery to make,” according to Glamour.

The This Is Me Now singer served as co-chair for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Benefit, along with Zendaya, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth, as well as Vogue's Anna Wintour.
