Jennifer Lopez Helped Ben Affleck Become a 'Family Man Again': 'Very Important to Both' (Exclusive Source)
"Family is very important to both of them, and together they were family people," says a source
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's marriage helped him "become a family man again," a source close to both of them tells PEOPLE.
Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, this week on the second anniversary of their wedding ceremony in Georgia, and a source says that their relationship always prioritized family.
"Family is very important to both of them, and together they were family people — and the connection doesn't end," the source says of their once-blended family.
Lopez shares twins Max and Emme, 16, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck shares three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.
"They are very different people," the source adds of Affleck and Lopez. "She's super public and wants to go out, and he's more of an introvert and is happy to hang out at home."

Affleck and Garner, 52, were seen returning to Los Angeles together on Tuesday after they brought Violet to college at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, hours before Lopez filed for divorce.
The exes, whom the source says are "in a good place" with their co-parenting efforts, were seen leaving the airport together in a car.
Garner has been dating California businessman John Miller on and off since she and Affleck finalized their divorce in 2018. A source told PEOPLE this week that Garner is "happy with John."
Affleck was seen for the first time since Lopez's divorce filing when he was stepped out without his wedding ring on his way to an office building in L.A. on Aug. 20.
Lopez filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court without an attorney and listed the couple's separation date as April 26 — when she was photographed spending time in New York City on her own. Affleck has been seen spending time at the same office building in recent weeks while he and Lopez spent much of the summer on opposite coasts.
A separate source told PEOPLE on Aug. 21 that Affleck "hasn't shown any commitment and interest in making their marriage work" in recent months. "It's gotten to the point that [Lopez] just needs to look out for herself," the source added.
