Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck trying to ‘put the kids first’ amid marital issues

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are trying to put their blended family first amid ongoing marital issues that have led many to speculate they’re headed for divorce.

The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer, 54, and “Gone Girl” star, 51, “still want to put the kids first,” an insider told People, pointing to the “family-oriented” couple’s joint appearance at a high school graduation party for Affleck’s oldest daughter, Violet, on Thursday.

Despite the current situation being “heartbreaking” for Lopez, who’s reportedly living in a separate home from her husband, the source said “the graduation was a big deal” and “Jennifer wanted to celebrate it.”

She was also reportedly in attendance on May 19 for another school event in Santa Monica.

Affleck shares Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Lopez meanwhile is mom to 16-year-old twins Max and Emme from her marriage to Marc Anthony.

The source’s insight came on the heels of Lopez canceling her “This is Me... Live” tour so she could take “time off to be with her children, family and close friends,” per Live Nation.

The summer tour — which was set to kick off next month and run through mid-August — had further strained tensions for Lopez and Affleck, amid their respective busy schedules and her disappointing ticket sales.

Prior to this month, the A-listers — who were engaged in the early aughts before reconciling in 2021 and marrying the following year — hadn’t been photographed together since March.
