Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Reportedly "Clash" Over Social Media Use

"Ben hates all attention, and it makes him very uncomfortable."

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are keeping quiet about the rumors that there may be trouble for Bennifer 2.0, but sources close to the A-list couple are sharing some insider information about what may be causing tension between the stars. While Affleck is notoriously shy about putting his life online, Lopez is anything but, which is what many believe is the root of any issues in the marriage. Recently, reports of the two living separately made headlines, and after a drought of PDA from the couple, they finally got snapped attending an event together last week.

"They just have very different approaches when it comes to media attention. Ben hates all attention and it makes him very uncomfortable. Jennifer has always had a different approach," an insider told People.

Another source explained that while Affleck has "always been impressed" by Lopez's success and drive, "always sharing her life is not his way."

"Even though he admires that about her, it doesn’t make him happy and causes stress in his life and then in hers. There is no question their different styles clash."

Another source shared that Lopez "needs that expression, but Affleck simply is not comfortable with it."

"After a while, it causes tension in the relationship," they continued. "He is more introspective and private. She likes to open her heart to her fans and to the world. This makes them considerably different, and it has been difficult in the day-to-day relationship. There have always been clashes in their styles, how they handle issues, and their actions, but nothing has stopped their love over the years. This is a great love story."

After their initial romance in the early '00s, Affleck and Lopez famously reunited after two decades and married in 2022. Since then, Lopez released a documentary about their romance, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, which included appearances from Affleck. Even then, he mentioned that he wasn't comfortable putting everything between the two online for the world to see.

"Getting back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media,’” Affleck said in footage from the documentary. “Then, I sort of realized it’s not a fair thing to ask. It’s sort of like, you’re gonna marry a boat captain, and you go, ‘Well, I don’t like the water.’ ”
