Jennifer Lawrence Layered Her Enormous Crimson Red Coat Over a Slinky LBD

Leave it to Jennifer Lawrence to teach us how to dress for the holiday season — and according to the actress's latest look, all it takes is a very good coat (and a splash of red). She's no stranger to wearing statement coats; just look at her plethora of long trench coats (in black, beige, and gray color ways) and her simple, throw-on-and-leave-the-house coat. But, nothing could have prepared us for her latest outing because the star just combined her love of outerwear with the trendiest color of the season by wearing an oversized crimson coat.

On Monday, the actress arrived at opening night of the Second Stage Theater play Appropriate on Broadway in New York City. For the occasion, she came sporting a very good coat from The Row that she styled with a slinky black satin slip dress that fell to the floor. A pair of black pointed-toe pumps peeked out from under the frock, and she accessorized with gold dainty hoop earrings.

As for her glam, J. Law opted for a subtle smoky eye with rosy cheeks and a very glossy pink lip while she styled her blonde locks sleek and straight with a middle part that she tucked behind her ears.

Last month, J.Law proved her knack for styling outwear once again during one of her signature NYC street strolls. The actress was the epitome of cozy girl fashion in a camel-colored robe coat from Toteme worn over a pale yellow oversized Tory Burch turtleneck. A pair of white cuffed jeans, cream Adidas Gazelle sneakers, massive Stella McCartney sunglasses, and a hunter-green Loewe Puzzle tote provided the finishing touches to her OOTD.
