Jennifer Garner credits her 'fresh and plump' complexion to this ultra-hydrating Neutrogena moisturizer

Jennifer Garner first rose to fame in 2001 on the TV show Alias, but you would never guess from looking at her that the 51-year-old actress has been in the public eye for over two decades. One of the secrets behind her glowing skin, she says: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Moisturizer.

This celeb-approved moisturizer aims to keep your skin hydrated for up to 48 hours.

Garner has long been a fan of Neutrogena, so much so that she became an ambassador for the brand. And in 2022, the actress shared with InStyle that Hydro Boost is one of her favorite products.

"I can instantly tell the difference — it just looks fresh and plump and better. There are all these little micro-lines that once I put this on, they go away," she said. "This is 48 hours of moisture that you're locking in with one thing, and then I don't have to worry about it. … I think it's my favorite product we've ever put out."

Hydro Boost's main ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which binds water to the skin’s surface to help give you smoother, hydrated, more supple skin. The fast-acting gel moisturizer is also lightweight, oil-free and non-comedogenic, so it won't clog your pores (and it's especially good for oily skin).

Of course, professional skin treatments like peels and fillers will set you back hundreds of dollars a pop, making even pricey moisturizers seem like a bargain. But Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Moisturizer will rarely set you back much more than $20.

Garner is far from Hydro Boost's only fan. More than 36,000 Amazon shoppers have given the moisturizer their five-star seal of approval. Reviewers rave that it works for all skin types and ages.

"Hands down the best moisturizer I have ever used," wrote one big fan. "Its lightweight yet deeply hydrating formula works wonders on my extra-dry skin, leaving it feeling soft, smooth and incredibly refreshed. The infusion of hyaluronic acid provides an intense boost of hydration without feeling greasy or heavy. What truly sets this moisturizer apart is its ability to outshine its more expensive competitors. I've tried high-end products, but none have delivered the same level of hydration and skin-smoothing results."

"I apply this after my shower in the morning. My skin becomes soft, supple, glowing, and almost young again," said another. "I'm 75 and I've used this at least four years. What all those TV salesmen promise, this Neutrogena product actually delivers. Some friends use it at night instead. I prefer to use an actual night cream and save this for morning because the Hydro Boost is visually more effective."

However, some shoppers pointed out that while it's great for moisturizing dry skin, it doesn't have any active ingredients to prevent signs of aging or increase firmness.

"This hydrates my skin very well and isn't irritating as I have dermatitis and must be very careful of products I use," explained a third shopper. "It sinks into the skin, providing great hydration. However, if you're looking for it to address anti-aging, you will need to use something else on top of this. It's a very good moisturizer, but since I need to use something else to address anti-aging I'm giving four stars."

Worth noting: Hydro Boost is lightweight, so you could easily layer this cream over a toner and serum, and under an SPF, without it feeling like too much. Garner herself says she uses Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Serum under the cream.

This gel-cream formula is specifically formulated for dry skin.
