Jenna Ortega Channels Winona Ryder's Red Lydia Deetz Wedding Dress at “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” Venice Premiere
Ortega posed alongside Winona Ryder in a look the Internet is convinced is a nod to one of the latter's famous OG 'Beetlejuice' dresses
It's showtime!
Jenna Oregta and Winona Ryder just brought gothic glamor to the Venice FIlm Festival with Ortega seemingly honoring Ryder's character Lydia Deetz's iconic red wedding dress from the original film at the Venice Film Festival.
The stars of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice kicked off the 81st edition of the event by posing side-by-side.
Ortega wore a sheer red two-piece look consisting of a heart-shaped top and pleated bottom which revealed her platform sandals. She completed the look with a matching red lip.
Ryder, meanwhile, wore a skirt suit featuring a cropped blazer and vest with contrasting buttons, a white button-up and a floor-grazing skirt.
Also in attendance were Michael Keaton, Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe as well as director Tim Burton.

Earlier that day, Ortega attended a photo call for the movie, where she wore a custom burgundy Paul Smith suit that nodded to Michael Keaton's wedding-day look in the OG movie. She paired the double-breasted suit with a necklace and ring.
Ortega and her stylist Enrique Melendez have been churning out head-turning looks inspired by the original movie throughout the press tour.
On Aug. 19, the actress stepped out in N.Y.C. wearing an ensemble that paid homage to the final look Ryder wore in the 1988 movie.
For the near-identical fit, Melendez worked with Thom Browne, which customized one of their sweaters with an emblem that resembled the one on Ryder’s blazer in the final scene, and Ozias, which created her Handbag for the Recently Deceased. Her rings included a Suzanne Kalan Golden Milli Stacker Diamond Eternity Band and a Rainbow K Ring Empress Sapphires.
"As said before Winona Ryder/Lydia Deetz are The BluePrint,” the stylist shared on Instagram.

Earlier in the month, the Wednesday star was in Mexico City supporting the sequel. Orgeta wore a custom Lurline dress that had the shrunken head molded on the bodice. She also wore an archival Vivienne Westwood dress that Melendez said “truly exists in the world of Tim Burton.”
Meanwhile, Ryder previously stepped out to promote the forthcoming movie on Aug. 17, and made a statement in a black Elena Dawson dress featuring a Mandarin collar plus contrasting white buttons along the top and a pleated skirt.

During press rounds for the sequel, Ortega opened up about her bond with Ryder.
After describing Ryder to The New York Times' The Interview podcast Lulu Garcia-Navarro as “warm” and “welcoming,” Ortega shared there was something strange and unusual, if you will, about their connection.
“The way Winona and I got along was quite weird. It was like we were reading each other’s minds a little bit,” the star told Garcia-Navarro.
Of Ryder's impact, Ortega continued, “She just made me feel really, really beautiful and special.”
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice hits theaters Sept. 6.
